The printer is going to the World Shift Offset Printing

Until now, printing in large quantities for packaging is still dominated by offset printing using the printer for printing on plastic or foil media is still not possible. But this will soon change with this new ink Xerox production.

Printer ink-shaped gel is capable of printing on plastic and foil like paint used offset machine. With this capability, the printer will be able to compete in the print world, especially for the amount that was not too much.

In a story published Friday TechWeb (30/05/2008), reported that Xerox is showing off this ink products at the conference printers drupa in Dusseldorf, Germany. "The ability to print on nearly any surface will make a lot of applications can be reached by digital printers," said Steve Hoover, vice president and director of the Xerox Research Center.

According to Xerox, this ink can survive on almost any surface because the ink is not water-based ink like a regular printer. This viscous ink would dry up by itself when exposed to ultraviolet light produces sharp printing results and old age.

To handle this a more solid ink, Xerox issued a print head made of stainless steel. This print head has a lifespan 10 times longer than the print head thermal ink-jet available today.

Xerox still has not given the release dates of products still in research stage. Expected bythe existence of ink is the printer that is clearly more expensive than the machine offset printing can be an alternative world that still rely on this offset machine .
